Women’s cricket thrives at Southwell CC

SOUTHWELL Cricket Clubs’s Women’s Spire Team recently hosted against Blyth and Farndon in the East Midlands Women’s League fixtures.

Southwell beat Blyth and lost a last ball nail biter to Farndon. SCC remain in 2nd position and have a cup match coming up away to Fiskerton & Thurgaton. Southwell Cricket Club have now also successfully introduced Women’s Softball cricket, from 12 years old to adult.

They have 20 members who train every Friday and play in the EMWCL League and Cup or festival matches most Sundays. The Club also have the ECB qualified Women’s Team coaches and want to increase this ready for 2026! The team had a fabulous 2024 season, winning 19 out of 24 matches!

If all of this has sparked your interest and you want to give cricket a go, please contact the club through their website contacts at, www.southwellcc.co.uk
