FARNSFIELD Cricket Club established a Women’s Section in August 2022 and over the last few months have gone from strength to strength, attracting new members and having regular indoor training.
The Farnsfield Cricket Club’s women’s team have entered the Nottinghamshire Women’s Indoor Softball League and are at present mid-table in the league which puts them in a strong position for the knock-out stages of the competition.
The Women’s Section is always looking for new members no matter what ability or age. We currently have players ranging from eleven years to over seventy and our aim is to enjoy the game of Cricket develop our cricketing skills, play competitively whilst still having fun.
Recently, three members of the newly formed women’s team – Emma Turner, Gail Frettingham and Luce Brailsford have become ECB qualified coaches joining the many highly qualified and experienced coaches already at the club. Indeed, one of our senior coaches has been assisting with the coaching of the Lincolnshire County Ladies squads over this Winter.
Farnsfield Cricket Club provides cricket to all ages and all abilities ranging from Kwik Cricket for the very youngest, through age group hardball cricket onto adult cricket. The Club currently runs three senior teams in The Bassetlaw League alongside which they have a Sunday team, a Sunday Development team and now a Women’s team.
The club would welcome anybody interested in joining be it as a player, a scorer, official or a supporter.
