Southwell Cricket Club is holding its annual Charity day in support of local charities REACH and Beaumond House at Brackenhurst on August Bank Holiday Monday 29th August.
The fun day for all includes a six a-side knock-out competition between eight local cricket clubs, BBQ, raffle, tombola and the “nearly-world-famous” annual Donkey Dump where our local ass is let loose on a pre-marked grid and wherever it decides to dump the owner of that square wins £1,000! The total net funds raised will be divided between the club and two of our well-known local charities, REACH, who provide valuable support for adults with learning difficulties and Beaumond House, who provide supportive palliative care to patients with life limiting or terminal illnesses.
In due course, further information about the Charity Day will be published at www.southwellcc.co.uk. In the meantime, if anyone wishes to purchase a square in the grid, please email mikefryer@btinternet.com for a ticket (£5 per square).
