Victory for Halam in U11s Kids Cup Competition

The Year 6 football team at Halam Primary school has been enjoying a winning streak!

On 14th january they took part in the semi-final round of the Schools’ football tournament, held at Mansfield Town Football Club. They played brilliantly, winning all three games played against Abbey Gates primary, Croft Primary and Lowe’s Wong Junior.

They then played the final, again at Mansfield Town Football Club on 24th January during half time in the Stags v Wycombe game.

After a nail biting match which ended 0 – 0 against Peafield Lane Primary Club, it all came down to a penalty shoot-out. Halam won 2 – 0 and they will now represent Mansfield Town Football Club in the Area Finals at Morcambe in March, where they will face other local winners representing Northern-based League Two clubs. The winners in March will then go to have a once in a lifetime opportunity to play at Wembley prior to the League Two Play-off Final in May!
