Southwell Theatre Club’s second award this year was won at the Open One Act Play Festival organised by N.A.N.D.A at the Civic Theatre, Mansfield, when they performed ‘Still Stands the House’. The Blaby Shield is awarded to the group who make the best use of the stage.
Ann McDowell was also winner of the club’s first award this year, the Arthur Poultney Memorial Trophy for her performance as Judith Bliss in Februray’s production ‘Hay Fever’.Southwell Theatre Club members have entered four competitions and won four awards in seven years despite the lack of a permanent base – they are to be heartily congratulated.
