Treasured toys to last a lifetime

The Lovely Little Toy Shop is a new online business that has recently opened in the Southwell area – and it specialises in selling treasured toys to last a lifetime.

The business idea came to founder Sarah Robinson after a family holiday in Yorkshire with her then ten-month-old son, Henry, who is now six.

On that trip, she purchased a wheeled push-along dog toy called Percy Pup, which soon became Henry’s firm favourite. Sarah quickly realised that his favoured toys were the more robust, longer-lasting items – ones which she, as a mum, would go on to keep to hand down to future generations.

So, deciding to leave the corporate world after more than 20 years, in the middle of 2020 she resolved to start her own business selling toys, gifts and keepsakes from some of the most well-respected names in the industry.

Now, The Lovely Little Toy Shop offers predominantly traditional toys, such as those made of more sustainable materials like wood, metal and fabric, etc.

All items purchased through the store are carefully packaged in environmentally friendly boxes and are beautifully wrapped in the shop’s logoed tissue paper.

There’s even a gift-wrapping service and the opportunity to add personalised messages or cards to items purchased if you’re sending them to relatives for birthdays and special occasions.
