The Neighbourhood Plan

Under the terms of the Localism Act in 2011, communities can now choose to produce a Neighbourhood Plan, to help shape and deliver new development in their area. Neighbourhood Plans can set out a vision for an area and help guide development, covering local issues such as where new homes, shops or offices should go and what green spaces should be protected.

 Southwell Town Council was the first in Newark & Sherwood to establish a Neighbourhood Area in December 2012 and since that time has been developing its plan.
