You are invited to join the spectacle of the circus when the European Juggling Convention (EJC) comes to Newark from 3rd to 11th August.
The week-long celebration of all things circus is being hosted at Newark Showground with a very special welcome event for the visiting jugglers taking place in Newark on Sunday 4th August. Newark’s Big Day Out will include food and craft stalls from 10am with live music from 11am.
The European Juggling Convention welcome parade will set off at 3pm from the Riverside Park and a temporary road closure will be in operation to ensure the safety of participants and spectators.
Circus and acrobatic shows by the Box Inverted Circus and Lost in Translation circus will commence from 4.30pm outside the Town Hall.
Expect spectacle, comedy, drama and delight as circus company Lost in Translation perform their show Hotel Paradiso. A fun-filled family show, packed with inventive comedy and dazzling physical skills. The cast display a colourful mix of daring circus skills, physical comedy and theatre, and there are many breath-taking sequences to gasp at.
The magical day of juggling and circus will conclude with a spectacular gala fire show on the Riverside Park from 8.30pm.
