Swimmer Ben ranked 6th in County

Congratulations to Ben Pierpoint who recently competed at the Notts ASA County Swimming Championships, along with other swimmers from Southwell, who all swam amazingly. Ben did fantastically well in the competition and is now ranked 6th in Nottinghamshire in the age 13 aged group, a big improvement from his 20th position last year.

He also won a bronze medal in the 50m Freestyle with a time of 29.18 seconds. Ben’s mum Charley said: “It’s been many years since any Southwell swimmer has been in a final, let alone won a medal so we’re very proud of him! He’s a brilliant swimmer and also swims for Nova Centurion who are the Notts elite squads. He’s qualified for the East Midlands Championships in May, so we’re looking forward to that too!”
