Mrs Janet Dawes and Mr Roger Swain organised a very successful barbeque in the paddock of The Beehive, Maplebeck (one of the smallest pubs in England) during the summer holidays. The event was well attended and made a change from the proverbial Sunday roast at home. The sum of £40 was realised for the Kirklington County Primary School funds. Playgroup apparatus was set up for the very young in the Village Hall and the youngsters were supervided by Joanne Swain and Sarh Vick. John and Vicki Aslin won two of the raffle prizes.
