Sue Ryder Summer Fundraising

A ‘Name the Boar’ competition has raised £532 for the Sue Ryder charity.

Vivien Carter, manager of the Sue Ryder shop in Southwell said; “Barclays Bank has matched it so we have a total of £1064 for our summer fundraising so far.  The Hearty Goodfellow were kind enough to let us use their function room and beer garden for a ‘Party at the Hearty’, we had games like human fruit machine, throw the teddy, tombola, and of course ‘Name the Boar’.  The winner was drawn by Verity Cooper, Bank Manager for Barclays Southwell/Newark branches and was won by a local lady here in Southwell. The Boar’s name is now Harry!

“These funds are so vital to support our hospice, Neurological centres and now our new build bungalows for more able clients.  These are under construction.”
