Stunning start to the Season for Lowe’s Wong

Congratulations to Lowe’s Wong Junior school football teams A & B, who both got off to a great start winning the first two games of the season in the Newark and Sherwood District School Sports Association Large School leagues.

The Junior A team, beat Sir Donald Bailey A team by 3 goals to nil and repeated the victory against John Hunt A team, again winning 3 goals to 0.

The Junior B team also beat the Sir Donald Bailey B team, 3 goals to nil and managed a 7-1 win over the John Hunt B team.

The teams are made up of a mixture of Year 6s and gifted and talented Year 5s. Playing in team A were: Tom, Dylan, Fintan, Jed, Daniel, Olly, matt and Ted. Team B were Will, Toby, Harley, Luca, Ernie, Charlie, Sam and Flynn.

Coach, Mr Luetkemier said: The players showed superb attitude and performance. We have real strength in depth this season with 24 pupils attending after school practice too.”
