On Sunday 23rd March, Katie Pitts, Grace Lane, Jade and Kirsten Pinson swam 1.5km in the Olympic pool at the Aquatic Centre in London and raised a very commendable £450 for Sports Relief.

They thoroughly enjoyed the day and were delighted to meet Duncan Goodhew while they were there. We also wish to give them our congratulations for being placed in the top 10 for their times. A very proud coach, Vince Lane, watched on poolside throughout the day while the girls had their very memorable swim.

Nottinghamshire County Championships

On the final day of the championships, March 30th, Matty Smith and Katie Mellors swam well in their individual events. However, in the afternoon the Girls 12yr and under Relay squads excelled themselves.

In the 4x50m Medley relay they improved their submitted time by 8 secs for an 11th place and in the 4x50m Freestyle by 10secs for 13th place out of 17 teams and each girl did a pb on all swims. Well done to all of you.

After all the points for all 5 categories (Sprint, Form, Medley, 100s and Free) of the British Age Group Award events were calculated our swimmers finished in the following places; Ben Pierpoint(10yrs), 17th/40, 616pts, Matty Smith(11yrs), 29th/46, 753pts, Jade Pinson(11yrs), 31/33, only did Sprints 196pts, as did Anna Bolsher(11yrs) 33/33 186pts, Katie Mellors(12yrs) with 1 Midland time, 19th/46, 1925pts, Rebecca
Flisher(12yrs)25th/46 1640pts. Myles Indovino(13yrs) 26th/28 only swimming Sprints and 100s 558pts and Callum Smith(14yrs) swam Sprints, 100s and Free for 16th/24, 955pts. Overall an excellent effort by all of our county swimmers.
