A Sports afternoon and barbecue was held recently for members of the Southwell Methodist Junior Church.
Enthusiastic competitors aged 3-14 yeas took part in a variety of races and points awarded were totalled at the end of the afternoon to give the overall winners in each age group.
Richard Chester was the winner of the Under 5 years section, Adrian Lee in the 5-7 years age group, Zak Briggs won the 7-9 years section, Karen Dearden was the 10-11 years winner and finally Julian Russell took the award for the best 11-13 years competitior.
Rosettes were presented to the winners of all the races by the superintendent, Mrs Kath Johnson and boxes of sweets were given to the overall winners.
Anyone wishing to join the Junior Church should contact Mr and Mrs Daerden or Mrs Ayers.
