Southwell’s very own young entrepreneurs!

SOUTHWELL Late Night Shopping and Market was a busy night for The Minster School’s latest Young Enterprise cohort.

Young Enterprise is a charity aiming to inspire young people looking for futures in business management or ownership; schools from all over the country enter into the competition with the aim of allowing students to experience what it’s like being a young entrepreneur.

The aim of the competition for each team to come up with an innovative new product to develop and sell, in order to climb the ranks and win the judges approval. Teams are ranked based on product design, profits, teamwork and a multitude of other factors, all of which are vital when trying to get a start-up off the ground.

This year, in an effort to raise funds for product development, The Minster School’s Young Enterprise Team found a place in the Southwell Late Night Shopping Market, selling: hand drawn cards, home crafted tree decorations, hot chocolate bombs and a variety of other sweet treats and goodies. It was a valuable learning experience, seeing which sorts of products sold well and which underperformed, as well as teaching everyone about teamwork and responsibility. The team is now busy planning their next event, where they will apply their experience learned and also raise some more funding for product development! Find out more @minster.ye2025 on Instagram.
