This June saw the three counties WI Match in which teams from Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, and Derbyshire compete over the day in a round robin contest leading to a final.
It is a full day of bowling and this year the winners were Nottinghamshire led by Jane Timmins. This is a biennial competition, and this year is also the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the WI in Southwell so a victory added to the centenary celebrations.
Sunday 2nd July saw the 17th anniversary of the D.J. Hall open event of the two wood triples EBF. The competition was won by D. Daniels, N. Hallam and D. Rouse who defeated J. Bartley, I. Rae and M. Bartley in the final after another fine bowling day blessed with good weather.
The club thanks D.J.Hall for their continued support of this great
competition and thanks also to all the club members who, under the
guidance of Andrew Day, did a marvelous job of the catering and
refreshments.
Each year the club plays a match with Mansfield B.C. on a 2 game home and away basis and this year it was won by STBC on the narrowest of margins namely one shot only over the two legs. Well done to all involved!
