Meetings have continued on a regular weekly basis and the programme has included a talk by Canon David Keene on his duties at the Minster and a film on juvenile crime produced by the Metropolitan Police.

The Venture Unit held a sponsored pram push to raise money towards the purchase of canoes and despite heavy rain managed to complete 25 laps of the Recreation ground.

The cost of running the Group is ever increasing and the necessity to fundraise continues. One future social event for this purpose will be the Ceilidh to be held in Oxton Village Hall in January.

Initial discussions have taken place and a feasibility study has begun to look into the possibility of replacing the existing Scout Hut with a more permanent building. Any help, guidance or suggestions on how to launch this project would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to Cub leaders Suzanne and Frank Cooling on the successful completion of an advance Training Course.

Awards were made to: Alan Evans, Mark Herring, Andrew Elner, Paul Herring, Mark Walker and Paul Bristow.
