The 10K is a flat and fast course which was perfect for Mark and Angela Edmunson-Jones, Mark coming 1st in his age group and 10th overall. Richard and Penny Durance along with Wayne Wilmot ventured out to the Peak district to run in the Baslow Boot bash.
We all know tickets for events such as Glastonbury sell out within hours. All the 1,000 entries for the Ramathon at Elvaston castle sold out in 8 hours. Vance Owen, Tracey Polak and Jo Harcombe were quick off the mark and were there, at least tickets were cheaper. It’s a shame that Dolly was not running as well.
Paul Butcher, Paul Orton, Ian Haigh, Chris Wales and Tina Granger took part in the Grindleford fell race. SRC runners, Martin Harrigan, Darren Corbett, Katy Simpson, Steve Rice, Peter Gault and Jonathan Simpson all completed the Holme Pierrpont 10 mile race in excellent times.
The Gordon Welbourne week consists of five back to back races in different locations in Newark. Only serious runners complete all five. Nigel Watkin, Paul Butcher, Pete Moody, Penny and Richard Durance and Jackie Duers must have been worn out on Friday night after the last run.
