15 successful pupils of the Southwell Motorcycle Training Centre received their pass certificates from Chief Superintendent Halford at the Notts Police Traffic Wing in Ollerton on February 15th.
The successful motorcyclists were later given a conducted tour of the Traffic Wing by Inspector Michael Wilcox. They were also treated to a breathaliser demonstration at which it was pointed out that it was possible to fail the test 12 hourse after drinking alcohol.
Southwell’s Motorcycle Training Centre has now been operating for 18 months. Its record speaks for itself: a 100% pass rate for all 18 pupils taking the Part 1 test (a test usually failed by 90% of those entering without training). And of the 22 pupils entered for the Part II test, 20 have already passed. Congratulations to all pupils and particularly the trainers, Mike Harrison and Barry Helm both of whom are police trained motorcyclists themselves.
