We are proud that many SJBC members helped the Minster School to win the Key Stage 3 and 4 Interschools’ Competition at District level, and to make a strong showing at the subsequent County and Regional Rounds.
The County Round of the KS4 competition saw seven SJBC members, Maisie Cutts, Sophie Morley, Fran Baisley, Rachel Cutts, Heather Walker, Chloe Jordan and Behram Khan play as part of the Minster School team. The girls won convincingly, and went through to the Regional Round on 11th March where they played valiantly and came out with silver medals, having lost two games 21-20 to the eventual winners!
Six members of SJBC, Dan Whaley, Oliver Stewart, Heather Collins, Eleanor Collins, Sofia Aujla Jones and Emma Hooper, represented the Minster School at the County Round of the KS3 competition, at which the girls came second and the boys third.
Our club sessions continue on Saturday mornings between 9am and 1pm. The club is keen to welcome younger-aged children who are interested in taking up this demanding and competitive sport. Previous experience is not necessary, and boys and girls from School Years 3, 4 and 5, would be welcome for trials, subject to places being available. We are currently operating a waiting list for School Years 6, 7 and upwards.
