Southwell Arts Beacon

On Thursday 2nd June, as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, a specially commissioned art installation was projected onto the west façade of Southwell Minster.

This special collection of images featuring Southwell’s community both past and present, illuminated the Minster in glorious fashion and coincided with beacons being lit nationally at 9.45pm.

Around 500 people packed the grounds of the Minster to witness this incredible display which was brought to the town by Guildhall Live Events, in conjunction with The Workhouse and Southwell Town Council. Funding was provided by the Arts Council’s Let’s Create Jubilee Fund.
