Once again Southwell Artists are delighted to open their houses and studios to show their work. This group of professional artists, resident in Southwell, have shown their work to the public biennially since 2004. This year visitors can see work by 16 artists, including five guest artists, on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October, 11am to 5pm daily.
Artist Maggy Milner said: “Our aim is to make the visual arts accessible to people of all ages, showing a wide range of approaches and techniques including painting, photography, sculpture and mixed media. You can visit 10 venues, see work and chat with artists who will also have work on sale.”
Free brochures, including a map (see below) showing the location of each studio, are available from local libraries, The Minster Centre, Church Street, Southwell and other public spaces. The trail takes visitors through our historic town, you can either walk or go by car. It should be fairly easy to find free parking if necessary.
There will be refreshments on either end of the route. Admission for both days £4 per person (children under 15 free). Pay at any one of the artists’ venues. All profits will be donated to Framework, a charity which delivers housing, health, employment, support and care services to people with a diverse range of needs.
