Outdoor shooting is beginning to hot up, but it would be better if the weather did too!
Our archers went to Bramcote Archers in Nottingham for the first round of the Nottinghamshire Summer League. Well over a hundred archers from across the county took part, and we shall welcome them to Southwell this month for the second round. Coupled with the first two rounds of the league shoot is the annual postal shoot against the archers of Oregon, USA . Results of the two shoots are published once all the rounds are completed.
A challenge match was held at Bowmen of Glen’s ground in Leicestershire, with five of our members taking part in the twenty -five – archer team; our county’s longbow archers managed to save us from a “whitewash”!
Ashley Buckland won bronze at the Wilford FITA shoot in mid-May. and again at the Welbeck Bank Holiday Week-end York/Hereford event.Several of our newer members did well at Welbeck too: shooting the Hereford round, Cam Pearson was 1st, Michael Bettany was 2nd and Malcolm Douglas 3rd. Christina Gimbel and Craig Fozard shot PB’s in the Bristol II. Well done everyone
