Sebastian wins two golds

On Saturday June 11th, a pupil at The Minster School, Sebastian Thornewill of Thurgarton participated in the Nottinghamshire County Schools Track and Field Competition at Newark Athletics Stadium.

This annual competition involves all Nottinghamshire senior schools, and those children who manage to achieve National Standard performances may earn the chance to represent Nottinghamshire in the National English Schools final in Manchester.

Sebastian entered two events the U15 boys 800m and the U15 boys 300m. The competition from Mansfield was notably strong this year and he produced an amazing performance to narrowly take both golds and achieve County Champion in both events. Sebastian won the 800m in a stunning time 2.04.1 which achieves the qualifying standard for English Schools.
