Samantha Sings for Princess Margaret

Samantha Lawrence, a 13 year old girl from Bramley Close, Southwell, is the first child to be chosen from outside London to join the children’s entertainment group ‘Kids International.’

This group has already participated in the 6 week television series of ‘the Les Dawson Show’ and had their own BBC television show at Whitsun.

Samantha was discovered by the producer of ‘Kids International’ Ernest Maxin, who was so impressed by her singing ability that he gave her a solo spot in the children’s own show at Whitsun which was televised nationally in May. “You have a beautiful voice and the most fantastic control that I’ve ever heard in a child.”

Her most recent success has been to appear with a host of internationally known stars at the annual ‘Junior Royal Variety Show’ which is held in aid of the children’s charity NSPCC and whose Patron is HRH Princess Margaret. Samantha was personally congratulated by Princess Margaret after the show and also warmly encouraged by the stars of the programme, Altered Images, Shakin Stevens, John Pertwee, Chas and Dave and Petula Clark. Bobby Ball surpassed everyone in his congratulations by giving her a 5 second kiss!
