Saharan Trek for Beaumond House

2017 sees 30 years of Beaumond House hospice care in Newark. As part of the celebrations, the charity has launched its 30th anniversary trek. They are looking for 30 trekkers to raise a total of £30k. This will be an amazing six-day trek through the Sahara Desert in March 2017.

The Challenge is to complete this 100km trekking adventure deep in the Sahara Desert, traversing hamada, twisting wadi’s and untouched, windblown sand dunes until you reach and summit Erg Zaher, the largest sand dune in this region of the Chigaga dunes. Living conditions are simple as you wild camp at night beneath the star filled night sky.

This is a wonderful, liberating and very achievable challenge. The experience of living in the sand, the silence, the solitude, the heat and watching the orbiting satellites in the mesmerizing night skies will make this an experience you will never forget.

To find out more about this amazing opportunity an information evening will be held on Wednesday 20th April at 131 Lime Grove, (opposite the back door of Beaumond House) Newark at 7.00pm or call Beaumond House on 01636 610556.
