A letter has recently been sent to most of the clubs operating in Southwell asking for their support in building a Leisure Hall in Southwell.
This prompts me in asking You, an individual, to help the committee in operating a scheme called ‘Buy a Brick Campaign’.
The S.P.L.A.S.H. committee consists of four housewives and although they work extremely hard they have limited time and contacts on which to draw. The scheme entails house to house calling asking people to ‘buy a brick’ for £1 to £5 or make a donation of just 10p. All who ‘buy a brick’ will have their names recorded in a book which will be on display in the reception area of the new Leisure Hall.
The Leisure Hall is intended to provide facilities for all forms of activities, not just sport – for social events like dances, disco’s, parties, wedding receptions, bridge, whist drives, displays and exhibitions, so it will of of use to the whole community.
If you are willing to help in any way please contact any of the committee members: Bernadette Gough, Hilda Orme, Chris Bonser, Beryl Cullis.
