THE Leadership Team and 48 Players from Southwell Rugby Club took a break from pre-season training to get their kit off and shoot a ‘Naked-ish’ calendar this summer, in a bid to raise awareness and money for mental health charity LooseHeadz.
The calendar, priced £10, will be available to buy from their Park Lane clubhouse, sponsor locations and can also be posted by emailing srcfridge@gmail.com. £1 from every £10 will be donated to the LooseHeadz Foundation, a charity that is working to raise awareness of mental health in the rugby community.
The calendar sponsors are: Qualis Renewables, The Old Coach House, Grace Machin, BS Fencing Contractors, Just Mortgages, Southwell Garden Centre, The Wine Bank, Last Night I Dreamt, The Hearty Goodfellow, Oak at the Saracens, Real Clothing, 181 Classic Motors and JPD Engineering.
Calendar Organiser James ‘Fridge’ Beaumont said: “I have had so much fun organising this calendar, even if I have seen far too much at times! The players have been so supportive and natural models. Without them we wouldn’t have a calendar. Can I also thank Adam for his amazing photography skills.”
Club Chairman Andrew ‘Spud’ Smith said: “It was important that we continue to spread awareness with regards to mental health issues and to support and reach out to our members. The calendar promotes body confidence and hopefully the members and wider community will enjoy it. I’d like to take this opportunity to also thank the local businesses for their sponsorship. Their support has been amazing.”
The calendar will be officially launched on Saturday 21st September at 2.30pm in the clubhouse.
Everyone is welcome, come and enjoy the 1st Team game and have a post match burger. Thank you F. Doncasters Butchers and Gadsby’s of Southwell for your amazing donations to the launch event and also the Main Club Sponsors HAE Group and Gascoines Estate Agents.
