After a very successful autumn/winter season at the theatre with our Christmas and January shows playing to capacity audiences on many nights, we are now launching our new season, which is a special one as we are celebrating 21 years since the theatre re-opened in 1961. We shall be presenting an additional Company play at the end of May, which we hope will be the highlight of the season.
After the opening event on 11th March, The Light Blues with a special supper included, provided by the Social Committee, the first play is ‘Candida’, the delightful comedy by George Bernard Shaw, set in a vicarage. Candida is loved dearly by her husband and passionately by a young poet who brings turmoil to the vicar’s once complacent existence.
In the cast are Margot Anderson, Roland Brown, Brian Bonner, Paul Archer, Richard Oakes and Jo Clayton. The director is Valerie Wilson and the set is designed by John Kitchen.
On April 7th there is a folk concert with Johnny Silvo and Dave Moses, which is a Nottinghamshire County Council Leisure Services promotion.
