As in any job there are certain standards to be met: You must be between the age of 18 and 45, not less than 1.68 metres in height and have a chest measurement of not less than 91 cms when unexpanded with an expansion of not less than 5 cms.
You must not wear any artificial aids to vision and be medically fit to undertake fire fighting duties. You must be able to attend Southwell Fire Station in response to a fire call with all possible speed on all occasions within five minutes of the alarm being given.
