Reach thanks local community

Local charity Reach Learning Disability would like to thank Southwell Bridge Club, The Viking Challenge and The Co-op Local Community Fund for their recent donations.

Southwell Bridge Club, now disbanded, kindly donated £2,450 to Reach. John Round, Club Treasurer, presented the cheque to Reach clients on behalf of members.

John said: “The members of Southwell Bridge Club were greatly saddened to close down after many successful years. Members were much heartened to donate our remaining funds to Reach – it’s good to know that the money will make a real contribution to the ongoing support for our local people with learning disabilities.”

Reach once again provided volunteer marshals for this year’s Viking Challenge, an annual bike ride whose route is based on the Viking Way in the Vale of Belvoir. Reach is grateful to all the volunteers and would like to thank The Viking Challenge for its generous £3,000 donation.

The Co-op Local Community Fund have donated £8,007 to Reach Southwell and Flower Pod Southwell – funds are raised by Southwell Co-op shoppers when they buy certain Co-op products and nominate Reach as their chosen charity.

Fundraising Officer, Laura Carr, said: “Thank you to the Co-op Local Community Fund, Southwell Co-op and its customers for helping us to support local people with learning disabilities at our Southwell centres. We look forward to continuing to develop our relationship with the Co-op in 2022.”
