On Saturday 1st March, the 4th Pub Walk for Parkinson’s will take place. Participants will meet at the Full Moon at Morton at 10.30am for coffee and bacon butties.
The walk will pass through Southwell to Edingley and then Farnsfield enjoying the local hostelries en-route! Organiser Bob Ratcliffe said: “We’re expecting at least 60 people and our target is to raise £5,000 for Parkinson’s UK.”
The 2013 event raised £3,500. Forty walkers set off from The Full Moon at Morton to walk the 7.5 miles to The Plough Inn at Farnsfield via The Hearty Goodfellow, The Final Whistle in Southwell and The Old Reindeer in Edingley.
“Its a very sociable event with many people exercising the dog at the same time. Last year many people attracted sponsorship both from individuals and local businesses, and to hit the £5k target, we hope many will do the same again.” said Bob.
Entry to the walk costs £25 which includes a beverage in five pubs. Contact Bob Ratcliffe on 01623 883195 or 07887 707496 for more details .
