Prebend Preschool
Prebend is a friendly, caring Preschool that aims to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children aged between 2 and school age to learn to socialise, develop emotionally, intellectually and physically through well planned play. Staff develop good relationships with the children and provide a variety of free choice and adult led activities linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum based on the children’s interests. Ofsted’s latest report rated Prebend ‘Good’ in all areas. Situated in the Methodist Church Hall close to the centre of Southwell, children have access to a large indoor space, a newly extended and resourced outdoor area and a sensory garden.
Sessions run daily term time between 9am and 3pm. We also offer two hour sessions (9am -11am and 1pm-3pm), Early Years Starter Sessions where parents can stay and play, Short Notice Sessions, Visitor sessions for children not registered with our Preschool and a Summer Holiday Club which is also open to non regular attendees. 2 year olds with parents claiming benefits or with siblings receiving free school meals may be entitled to 15 hours funding. A caring and nurturing preschool with the ethos of learning through play. Southwell Preschool is in a quiet and safe environment, ideally located next to the wide open spaces of the Park and the Minster grounds. We also have exclusive use of our own secure outdoor play area and garden that we use every day. We aim to ensure the children feel safe and happy as part of a group which values everyone equally, with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum at our core. We offer a wide range of free-choice and adult-led activities both indoor and outdoor. Children can start from their second birthday (nappies are no problem) to school age.
Our core term-time session is 9.15-12.15 Monday to Friday. Lunch clubs are available from 12.15-1.15 Monday to Thursday and afternoons 13.15-14.45 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday* (*school preparation sessions for over 3s). We also operate a summer holiday club for 2-8 year olds, non-registered children and siblings are welcome.
