THE Southwell Cricket Club AGM was held on Tuesday 17th January as preparations for the season ahead began with the appointment of the 2023 club officials.
Notable appointments saw Jonny Butler voted in as 1st Team captain and youngster Will Ashworth takes his first captaincy role with the Sunday side.
The club are still looking for volunteers to help, specifically to support the administration of the junior setup, overseeing the management of the pavilion and a fundraising manager. The juniors began their season nice and early this year, training at The Minster School sports hall on Friday evenings at 6pm to 7.30pm for ages 9-15. Existing players and newcomers are very welcome. Please speak to David Rimmer 07779 435160 for more information.
Senior players are training at Trent Bridge Cricket Club on a Monday evening between 8-9pm, all interested players welcome to join.
Ex-England international Robert Croft is our guest speaker at the annual Sportsman’s Dinner. Hosted in the Derek Randall Suite, overlooking the famous Trent Bridge Cricket Ground on 21st April, the night is a highly anticipated event in our social calendar.
