Plastic Free Southwell?

Plastic Free Southwell?

Plastic Free Southwell?

The amount of plastic waste generated annually in the UK is estimated to be nearly 5 million tonnes and we are becoming increasingly aware of the damage this has on our environment.

As a result, there’s been a lot of talk recently about reducing the amount of plastic we use, especially single use plastic.
There are already some good local initiatives in place to reduce the amount of plastic we use. One example of this is Gannets Daycafe and Bistrot in Newark who are working to reduce the number of coffee cups used each day. They have signed up to the EcoCuppa scheme where cafes pledge to offer their customers a 50p discount every time they use any reusable flask or cup!

Do you know of any other initiatives already happening locally? Or is your business or home already doing something about it? and if so what?
