Pink Ladies’ quiz raises over £3,000

IN March Southwell Pink Ladies held their annual quiz at the Minster School.

We once again welcomed back Martin Berry as our quizmaster. Martin set our quizzers five very wide and challenging rounds of questions and two table marathons. The hall frequently fell silent as we all concentrated and scratched our heads!

During the interval a game of ‘Heads and Tails’ was played with the winner choosing a bottle of pink gin.

Congratulations to the winners of the quiz, Calcutta, who shared the prize of six bottles of mixed wines.

The array of raffle prizes was once again magnificent! At the end of the evening twelve lucky prize winners each took away a bag full of wonderful things.

A really big thank you to all those people who donated prizes and especially the local retailers who gave so generously again. A special thank you to Jane at Violet Rose who not only gave us several bags of wonderful prizes but also sponsored the whole cost of the hall for the evening.

The bar was busy as usual all evening and many thanks to Nick for organising it and Steve and Peter for their invaluable help on the night.

And finally, a very big thank you to everyone who attended our quiz and to Martin for setting and presenting such a good quiz.

The Pink Ladies really appreciate everyone’s continued support – you all helped us raise an amazing total of £3,007!
