Night of the Fire

After the damage is done one has to take a light hearted view over a near disaster.

So, with this in mind, we send special thanks to those listed below.  This was no play but had it been it would have read something like this: Cast in order of apearance:(Our grateful thanks to them all) Hero – Michael Stewart (aged 12);Athletic neighbour – Dennis Breedon; Police constable – Mr Stevenson; Fire crew – Robert Gregory, Alan Raworth & Co; Cleaning crew – family and friends;Invaluable friends and suppliers of fine food, accommodation and cleaning equipment – Mick & Madeline Gill, Diane & Richard Stubbs, Stan & Valerie Homer, John & Jean Clausen; Mobile home suppliers – Jim & Pauline larke; Painters & decorators (their second visit in five months) – Brian Smedley and Malcolm Rawson.

Pictured above Michael Stewart, 12, of Pinewood Close, Southwell, who spotted a fire in the home of Mr & Mrs Taylor and raised the alarm, was given a surprise reward when he was presented with a miniature cricket bat by Notts. cricketer Paul Todd (left).
