A recent event on the theme of TREASURE at Lowe’s Wong Junior School marked the start of the 8th annual National Tell a Story week organised by the Federation of Children’s Book Groups which has 90 member groups all over the country.
More than 50 children from the school entered a writing competition with a treasure theme and the winners received book token prizes. Other prizes were kindly donated locally.
Mr T.I. Bowler the headmaster, made the presentations. Prizewinner for the 1st and 2nd years was Simon Jamie; runner up Andree Severn; 3rd and 4th years: winner, Sarah Hopwood (pictured above); runner up, Mark Herring. Winner of the Treasure quiz was Tom Fleming and Dominic Ward found the hidden treasure. Alison Jenner won the raffle.
