Minster School A-Level Art Exhibition

THE creative talents of our A-Level Art and Photography students were celebrated at a stunning year-end showcase in July.

The art studio was opened up to highlight the impressive work they had created, with family members, friends, school staff and governors coming to see the student’s work.

The 23 students have spent the past two years honing their skills, presenting a diverse range of artworks from intricate paintings and detailed drawings to photographic compositions and beautiful documentary images of life in Italy. Each piece reflected the individual style and vision of its creator, demonstrating the depth of creativity and technical proficiency nurtured during their A-Level studies.

Photography students captured the world through their unique lenses, with projects exploring themes such as identity, nature & conservation, and urban life. The art students, meanwhile, showcased a variety of media, including oil painting, acrylic painting, mixed media and some small sculptures, each telling its own compelling story and often on a very large scale.

Art Department Head, Ms Ball, expressed her pride in the students. “This year’s cohort has truly excelled. Their dedication and passion is evident in every piece on display and the final grades achieved.”

The exhibition not only marks the end of their A-Level journey but also serves as a launchpad for many students, especially those pursuing further studies in art, fashion, architecture and photography at prestigious institutions. The event was a testament to the vibrant creative community within the school and the bright futures that lie ahead for these young and very talented students.
