Lowe’s Wong Junior School recently held an afternoon tea party to celebrate 50 years of the school.
Over 200 people joined present staff and pupils for the tea party. Maps were displayed, marked up to show not only where ex-pupils and staff now live in the UK but also where they are around the world.
Headteacher, Mr Mike Follen said: “We were genuinely thrilled by the number of people who attended, with lots of favourite memories being shared. Mr Edwards proved extremely popular having taught in the school for 27 years.”
organiser of the event Sarah Angell said: ‘It was fantastic afternoon, to see familiar faces from the past who have travelled from near and far to join in with the celebrations. In particular Mr Cullen who had come all the way from the Lake District. The day was made even more special by the current pupils dressing up through the decades and the generosity of the parents sending in the most amazing cakes.”
