Lowe’s Wong Apple Day parade

DESPITE the torrential rain, ‘Bramley Apple Day’ was able to go ahead at Lowe’s Wong Infant School. All of the children (and many of the staff) arrived in apple-themed fancy dress, and paraded to each other around the school hall. Winners were chosen from each class by Col Roger Merryweather, who also talked to the children about the history of the Bramley Apple and its importance to Southwell. 

Pictured are the finalists of the fancy dress parade (left to right) Daisy as‘William Tell’, Florence as an ‘apple queen’, Lottie an ‘apple princess’, Grayson as an ‘apple pie’, Louis as an ‘apple delivery driver’ and Harrison as a ‘Bramley Newspaper Seller’. 

Congratulations to new King Louis and Queen Florence who were crowned at Southwell Library on 28th October.
