We will once again be celebrating all things literary at Lowdham Book Festival from 17th to 25th June.
With the usual diversity of events there should be something for everyone. We have well-known writers: Joanna Trollope, (for our Reading Group morning) and Judith Miller of Miller’s Antiques, speaking at the Literary Lunch. Then there are local authors, and celebrations of Shakespeare, Roald Dahl and Rudyard Kipling.
For fans of crime-writing, we have a fantastic line up of well-known crime-writers and even a murder mystery evening. As ever, we have an event for cricket fans down at the green sward of Caythorpe Cricket Ground.
Warthog Events are joining in the celebrations this year with a concert by the evergreen Tony Christie.
There is a day trip to Hooligan Yarns combining the world of wool with poetry.
The Festival Film this year will be ‘The Lady in the Van’, adapted from Alan Bennett’s book of the same name and starring the wonderful Dame Maggie Smith.
The final Saturday will have talks, stalls and events for children to round off the week.
For the full programme, please see www.thebookcase.co.uk and for tickets for all the events, telephone the Box Office on 0115 9663219.
