Everyone who attended the Lions Ceilidh dance in March had a wonderful time dancing to the lively music played by the talented young musicians of the Minster School Ceilidh Band led by Bernard Blackwell with caller Gerald Claridge. Thank you to all those involved.
We are now looking forward to numerous upcoming events. Look-out for the BIG Easter Eggs dotted around the Town and surrounding area in various pubs. Have a go on our Easter Egg Stall on the Market Place Southwell on Easter Saturday (19th) – You never know your luck!
Following that, the Lions 21st Anniversary Quiz Night (see ad on right) is being held on Friday 9th May, 7pm for 7.45pm in the Minster School Hall. Teams of six, £7.50 a head (Including a Ploughman’s Supper and bar). Tickets from Graham Coulson on 01636814217 or email: grcoulson64@live.co.uk’
And finally, Lions are giving their support to the Southwell Flood Forum and Farnsfield Parent School Association’s Farnstock events on Saturday 19th July.
Now in its second year this event will be held on the grounds of St Michael’s School Farnsfield. Farnstock delivers a unique blend of family and children’s entertainment during the day switching to an unashamedly grown up music festival in the evening.
With a great mix of quality food, quality drink and some of the best bands and artists from the area – Farnstock is no fete and a Tombola free zone!
Farnstock is a charitable event with all profit benefiting St Michael’s School. Make sure you do not miss out on tickets as last year’s event sold out!
