THANKS to a very generous donation, a new publicly accessible defibrillator has been installed on the wall of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church on Halam Road in Southwell.
This life-saving equipment has now been added to the list of several defibrillators positioned in and around Southwell which are serviced and maintained by Southwell Community First Responders and other groups. They can be accessed and released with a code when required after and in response to a 999 call.
Defibrillators are crucial in a medical emergency because they can deliver a life-saving electric shock to a patient in cardiac arrest. Time is critical in this type of incident so prompt use of a defibrillator combined with CPR can increase survival rates significantly.
This defibrillator is now easily accessible from the church car park for all incidents in the surrounding area.
