Learn To Sing

Readers of the Bramley may well be aware of a group of men, called the Major Oak Chorus who sing regularly and gain a lot of fun, friendship and a great sense achievement. A bonus is that it is well known for adding a healthy life style!

Although based in Nottingham, a significant proportion of the guys come from the distribution area of the Bramley newspaper. You might have heard us perform at a number of localities in the area, including this year’s Folk Festival.

This September we are again holding a “Learn To Sing” course for men of any age who would like to have a go, our youngest member is 16 and our oldest over 70. All material and tuition will be provided and you can count on plenty of support and encouragement from our talented Musical Director, Joe Knight, ably supported by our enthusiastic membership.

The event is held in the Lindsay Morgan Hall on Marshall Hill Drive in Mapperley and runs on a Tuesday night from 7.30pm onwards from early September. If you are interested in this or would like to join us or hire us for your function then please contact Dave Johnson on 01636 814277.
