Late night shopping in Southwell

WITH December fast approaching our thoughts are turning to Christmas, and with that comes the delight of shopping!

Southwell is the perfect place for both gifts and festive essentials and Southwell’s Christmas Late Night Shopping and Market has become an annual highlight.

This year it will take place on Thursday 28th November, 4-8pm. The shops will be accompanied by a Christmas Market in the market square with additional stalls along King and Queen Street. Come along to enjoy the tree light switch-on and carol singing provided by the primary schools choirs from Lowes’ Wong, Holy Trinity, Bleasby and Halam. Lowe’s Wong PTA has also organised a Santa’s Grotto in Bull Yard and the pubs and restaurants will be open providing hot and cold food and drink to suit all tastes – lots of festive fun for everyone.

In addition there will be a Nativity Shop Window Trail for children running from Monday 25th November to Sunday 15th December, organised by the Collaborate Churches group. Nativity figures will be hidden in shop windows around the town, find them all and you could be in with a chance to win a prize. The
entry form can be cut out right, or copies will also be available in participating shops and the Library.

Even if you can’t come to the Late Night, the shops are geared up to welcome you throughout November and December. All the retailers look forward to seeing you this winter and helping make your Christmas special.
