The RAGE (Residents Against Gasification Experiment) group have recently held a Raffle and coffee morning to raise funds to continue the fight against Peel Environmental and their plans to build an Incinerator in Bilsthorpe.
The group worked with a planning consultant to submit an objection to the plans, this was funded by kind donations from Bilsthorpe, Eakring, Rufford and Kirklington Parish Councils. The group have also been in contact with Shlomo Dowen from UKWIN(UK Without Incineration) who helped stop the Incinerator proposal in Rainworth, he also submitted a thorough objection to the plans.
From these objections, Nottinghamshire County Council has formulated 20 questions that Peel has to respond to. We are currently waiting for Peel’s response.
The funds raised from the Raffle and coffee morning will ensure that RAGE are able to react quickly with the next course of action once Peel do respond.
Thank you to all those who bought a ticket or helped out. We need your continued support to help fight this proposal. Please see Bilsthorpe.com for meeting dates and progress updates.
Winners of the Raffle were as follows: £200 MP Habershon, £100 Worley, £50 Kath Green.
