Grant for Bowls Club

Southwell Town Bowls Club have recently received a grant of £8,318 from the Big Lottery Fund. These funds have been used to Tarmac the path to the frontage of the clubhouse which has made access easier and safer. A new canopy has been attached to the front of the building and has given, not only shelter from the sun and rain, but is an attractive addition to the premises. The committee and members are grateful to the Big Lottery Fund.

June saw the annual DJ Hall Open Event which is sponsored by our local funeral director. Despite the mixed weather, 24 teams of three players participated and enjoyed a pleasant day’s play which included delicious lunches and copious teas, coffees and home made cakes catered for by the lady members of the club. The winners were P Smith, M Hodgett and T Meadows after a closely
fought final. Thanks to all those who contributed to a great day.
