Gonalston Farm Shop entered a new era on Saturday 6th October when former professional cricketer, regular customer and broadcaster Jonathan Agnew (Aggers) kindly performed the official opening of the newly refurbished shop, making them the first national farm shop convenience store following a ground breaking partnership with Budgens.
Customers old and new tasted delicious food samples from its existing local suppliers and explored the new range of convenience products supplied by Budgens that are now sold within this long established Farm Shop.
First opened in 2003, Gonalston Farm Shop can now provide the local community with a wider range of products as well as its original farm produce.
Georgina Mason, farm shop director at Gonalston Farm Shop said: “This is great news for our customers. They can pop in for their usual Gonalston Farm Shop produce and also pick up a few more things they would normally have to get from a large supermarket. It is far more convenient for customers in every sense. This is about boosting our existing offering. We currently have 88 artisan suppliers on our shelves and they’ve already reported an upturn in sales as the footfall increases and our new offering helps us to attract a wider market.”
Gonalston Farm Shop has taken on 7 new staff to cover the longer opening hours and the increase in sales with possibly more to follow.
With the focus now firmly on Christmas – why not join us on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd December for some delicious festive tastings at our Christmas Extravaganza.
