Getting Festive at the Racecourse

As ever Southwell Racecourse never has a quiet winter period and the last few weeks of 2019 are no different, with meetings on 15th, 19th, 20th and 29th December.

Gentlemen’s Day on 15th December promises to be a very busy afternoon, with an afternoon of jumps racing, guest ales, a best dressed gent competition with great prizes courtesy of Masdings, a darts challenge with top darts player Andy ‘The Hammer’ Hamilton to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK and live music throughout the day from the Ritchie Muir band.

The Festive Fixtures at the racecourse on December 20th and 29th, together with the first fixture of 2020 on New Year’s Day, provide the perfect opportunity for groups of friends and family to get together and come racing. The New Year’s Day fixture is particularly popular, with a good crowd guaranteed.

2020 is also just around the corner with 66 fixtures taking place at Southwell, with nearly half of those taking place in the first four months of the year. There are some nice events planned for next year too including staples such as Ladies Day, Family Fun Day and Countryside Evening joined by Irish Night in March and Nottinghamshire Sports Day on 26th August.

There is plenty going on at Southwell Golf Club as well, with a range of new packages available for the winter and membership packages.
